The vampire lurks in the shadows, secretly preying on those she lures in. Satiating herself as she drains their life force. Yet the vampire is deceptive. She paints herself as holding the light - a virtuous leader who can make all your dreams comes true. She even believes her own delusion. She cannot see her own reflection in the mirror.
She only see others behaving exactly as she does, condeming them from her pedestal of delusion. Luring more in with the false proclamation that she is different.
It’s a rite of passage to fall for the manipulative messages of an online coach or MLM rep. You know in your bones that a better life is possible. You know in your heart that a better world is waiting to emerge. You feel the pull of your dream and you know it’s about more than you. There’s a higher order to everything and you intuitively know that following your dreams is part of bringing the higher plan into physical reality.
It feels like divine synchronicity brought this person into your world. They’ve convinced you they have the formula to bring your dreams into reality. You might even slip into arrogance about it “I’ve found this magical route”. You might have a touch of narcissism “I’m so special and chosen for this path!”.
But while synchronicity can feel magical, it’s not always about dreams and everlasting joy - at least not straight away. Synchronicity can lead you into the messy world of soul growth - the messy world of bringing order and balance to the chaos and imbalance inside and out in the world.
It can lead you right into the shadows and darkness, the underworld of the psyche. The great balancer to the spirituality and religion that splits off its own shadow, causing it to lurk in the dark while proclaiming it is the one true light.
It’s easy to feel ashamed that you’ve fallen for it - that you were so naive. But your job is to feel your way through that shame and into your own shadows. Using the shame to find the hurting, discarded pieces of yourself and the walls you’ve put around your heart to stop yourself feeling the old pain.
Those vampires can only suck the life force of closed hearts locked in the shadows, because they’re also locked in the shadows. They can’t control or manipulate a heart that’s healed and shining a light made brighter because it was lit in the dark.
NOTE
I’m following the call of archetypes in this piece. The Vampire (also known as the Sorceress) is a name given to the aggressive shadow of the Queen or Luminary archetype. The passive shadow is the Figurehead or Snow Queen. Both shadows are rejecting the call to true leadership that is the Queen’s archetypal transformation.
Check out K.M Weiland’s “Writing Archetypal Character Arcs” and this YouTube video for more on these archetypes:
